“You want some cake”

“Sure” she replied

“Alright, I’ll get us some.”

The old man gets up and soon returns with two pieces of cake; one in each hand. Then all of a sudden a little girl, who I suspect of being their granddaughter asked for one of the pieces of cake. The old man, without hesitation, set one piece down infront of the girl, and the other down in front of his wife. He then took his seat and continued to watch the table’s patrons and their activities, just like before. Probably because I was high, I couldn’t get over how selfless this old man was. What affected me the most was that he didn’t even hesitate to give his piece to the granddaughter. I guess I thought it was crazy because I couldn’t stop thinking about what else this guy would do for his granddaugter. I mean, does it stop at giving up free cake? Would he take a bullet for this kid? From what I saw, I believe the answer is yes. And that’s why him giving her the cake was so significant in my baked mind.  A few minutes later the old women finished half of her piece and gave the rest to the old man. He finished the rest.

The point to this little vingentte is that weed can do some pretty amazing stuff. I’m kind of a cynical person. I don’t look for the best in people, and I generally think that people are either retarded or just stupid. But after I take a few tokes of the marijuana smokes, I quite simply just love people. They crack my shit up. When I’m high I look at a person and I can see them getting off work, going home, eating supper, watching t.v., driving to church, interacting with others. It’s like i’m above them watching them through a looking glass. My real point is that marijuana, for me at least, maybe others, gives me a human experience.

For far too long have we walked down the street not looking at the closest passerby. Ignoring them as if they were a passing bird. They are humans, just like me, just like you. We need human interaction, compassion, and understanding. And I believe this is what marijuana does. Now of course I’m not basing this on any scientific research, just my own experiences. But I’m telling this story because I want everyone to try and make this connection. Next time you get blazed, go out in public. As you pass people, make inferences. Oh! I see a women and her two kids walking down the street. I wonder if they have a dog? I wonder if those kids play sports? I bet it’s hard to raise children. I’ve seen that shirt at Wal-Mart! These little things we can notice or wonder about other people allow us to make connections with them on a basis that is much deeper than simply referring to them as an idiot because they can’t seem to understand basic traffic laws.

Bottom line: Smoke weed… It will allow you to uncondtionally love strange humans for no fucking reason.

Before I begin, let me just say this. Every group is different. No one is going to follow the same guidelines as my stoner buddies and I do. However, as I said earlier, this “guide” is very general, and is just here to give you an idea of what is going on. Based on your group’s behavior, you can then access how to act from there. Also note, when I say group, I am referring to the particular collection of people you are smoking with at the time. Each time you smoke, you may smoke with a different group.

First, There are three different kinds of weed; swag, mids, and nugget. Swag is the cheapest. It is usually green to brown in color and has lots of seeds. If anyone in the group mentions seeds, then you might be smoking swag. Also, swag does not have any little red hairs coming off the bud. Mids on the other hand, also have seeds, have some little red hairs, but are still compact, like swag, and and still green to brown like swag. They are the second most expensive. Last nugget. Nugget is the king of weed. Nugget can be green to gold. It got a what looks like a billion little sparkles all over the bud. (THC). Nugget has hella red hairs, no seeds and is not compact. Now this is just a quick reference, to get the full idea, look up some pics on Google.

Second, Whatever the circumstances, you will most likely be smoked out your first time. Being “smoked out” means; your group will let you smoke their weed without you having to give them money, or any other form of compensation. I always smoke out all noobs. Sometimes however, you can get a douche bag and he will demand money for gas, or food, or something. You don’t need to avoid these people, but just remember, his primary motive, unlike most stoners, is to cover his basis, not show you a good time. In all fairness though, showing you a good time, could be his second motive, but my primary is alway to make sure the noob is having fun, that’s more important that money.

Third, Don’t give up. No matter how hard it is to figure out how to use that bong, or to remember to plug that carb, remember everyone in your group went through the same thing. Your group, hopefully, will do a good job of showing you how to use the paraphernalia. Also, everyone likes it when they get asked questions. Especially when it is a question they know how to answer. Think about it. When was the last time one of your peers asked you a question and you knew the answer and you couldn’t wait to school them. Stoners love talking about smoking. If you got a question, FUCKING ASK. And if it’s too embarrassing, then just Google that shit later or leave me a comment.

Fourth, Here is a quick rundown of the different ways to smoke weed. The one’s at the top are the most likely ways you will be smoked out your first time.

Blunt: A cigarillo that has been emptied of tobacco and replaced with weed. A spliff is a blunt that has weed and tobacco in it. I refuse to smoke tabacco, if you do to, make sure you buddy doesn’t hand you a spliff.

Joint: A joint is what is commonly referred to as a marijuana cigarette. We’ve all seen joints before. Don’t be confused by the word cigarette though. The only two things required to make a joint are rolling papers and weed. There are no added chemicals. You can also put a filter (rolled up piece of paper) in the front of the  joint to prevent weed from getting in your mouth. IMPORTANT: with blunts and especially joints, you will need to roll your lips inside your mouth, like you were pretending to not have teeth, this way you don’t get saliva on the paper, and it stays dry.

Pipe: Pipes are versatile and easy to use. They are great at conserving weed and getting you high. While joints and blunts on the other hand can waste weed. Normally, swag is not smoked out of a pipe, because it dosen’t taste very good. And because swag and mids are so cheap, they are normally smoked with a joint or blunt. My first time I was smoked out on a nugget blunt, which is rare, (I’ve only smoked 3) So don’t by any means assume what kind of weed it is based on the method used.

Bongs: Bongs are the greatest in my opinion. We’ve all seen a bong. They get you the highest the quickest.

Vaporizer: Vaporizers are expensive, stoners like to spend money on weed, not so much 200 dollar vapes. Vapes get you the highest in the cleanest manner.

Chillums: A chillum is a pipe, but there is no carb (little hole you have to cover to inhale smoke). Chillums are always small and there are only a few hits in each bowl (place you load the weed). Chillums are at the bottom of the list because they’re not convenient for groups.
